CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM RT. REV. DR. SETORWU KWADZO OFORI, MODERATOR OF THE GLOBAL EVANGELICAL CHURCH.

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM RT. REV. DR. SETORWU KWADZO OFORI, MODERATOR OF THE GLOBAL EVANGELICAL CHURCH.

Joy to the world, the Saviour is born!

It is with great joy that we come to you once again with a Christmas message. However, this year’s message is special and very dear to our hearts. This is because, it happens to be our last message to you as the current Executive of the Global Evangelical Church. By the grace of God, my colleagues and I have successfully completed our six year tenure in office. On behalf of the Synod, the Synod Committee, and the entire membership of the Church, we wish to thank the government and the entire nation for the support given to us during our tenure.

We should be thankful to the Almighty God that we have once again survived the journey of one year and Christmas is here with us. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year when we celebrate faith, family, and the tradition of giving gifts because that was what God did. Peace is the absolute gift that God has given to us Ghanaians through His Son Jesus, the Christ. So let us continue to maintain the peace especially as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ who is the prince of peace.

Let us remember as a nation, that, Jesus is the reason for the celebration. For this, whatever one does, it should be to the glory of His name. Let us merry in moderation! Drivers should exhibit the highest sense of caution during this season to avoid the loss of lives.

As a nation, we need to appreciate the fact that, Christmas is also a season for giving, remembering and sharing the love that God showed us. We therefore call on all well meaning citizens and philanthropists to reciprocate God’s love for mankind by reaching out to the less privileged in the society. Let us also be intentional to share Jesus Christ, the best gift during this period.

Christmas is also a time when we take stock of our blessings and reach out to those who have touched our lives. The Global Evangelical Church in this spirit, once again says ‘Thank you’ to all our partners-the government, civil society, sister churches and para church organizations, development partners, the media, all and sundry for your immeasurable contributions towards our development.

I wish to cease the opportunity to appeal to the government to give a listening ear to the hues and cries of Ghanaians concerning the economic crises facing the citizenry.

May this yuletide spirit fill your hearts and homes with abundance of mercy, contentment, laughter and harmony.  May the message of Christmas fill your life with joy and peace. The Global Evangelical Church wishes you all the hope, wonder, and joy that the Season can bring.

Merry Christmas.
